RITA holds Truck Transportation Merit Badge Course

RITA hosted 25 aspiring Eagle Scouts on Feb. 23 for its annual Truck Transportation educational program. Scouts from as far as Rochester, New York, attended this hands-on, interactive training. Attendees also came from Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Training explores all facets of the trucking industry and exposes young men and women to industry professionals.

Trooper Luis Robles of the Rhode Island State Police Commercial Enforcement Unit gave the scouts a high-level view of the regulatory and enforcement aspects of the trucking industry.

RITA Board Member Ryan Roche from D.L. Terminals in Cranston swung his Mack Pinnacle tractor and trailer into RITA’s parking lot so that scouts could get an up-close look at the vehicle.
