RITA Celebrates New Headquarters

WARWICK, R.I. (Jan. 26, 2022) – – The Rhode Island Trucking Association (RITA) celebrated the opening of its new headquarters on Bald Hill Road in Warwick yesterday with a ribbon-cutting and Open House. Attendees included the Honorable Frank Picozzi, Mayor of Warwick; state officials; members of the state’s trucking association and its Board of Directors; Annual Sponsors and invited guests.

New RITA headquartersRITA acquired the 6,400 square foot, Class A office building at the northern end of Bald Hill Road in September when the association was compelled to relocate from Pawtucket. The new location is more centrally located for the convenience of members while the large parking lot will enable the continuation of safety trainings.

“This building is a great tribute to all of the members of the association,” emphasized RITA Chairman Mike Kiselica. “And it is fitting that it is in the visionary city of Warwick.”

“I’m a blue collar guy,” said Mayor Frank Picozzi in succinct and earnest remarks. “I know the work you do for the working men and women.”

The transition to a new location takes place as RITA marked its ninetieth anniversary of “Delivering Rhode Island” and follows a turbulent, high profile battle against truck tolls which ultimately strengthened the association.

“We are pleased and honored that Mayor Picozzi was able to share this milestone with the association,” stated RITA President and CEO Chris Maxwell. “But as we celebrate the association’s new headquarters with its stoic, white pillars, it is really about the people who have charted the course for RITA. It is about our many friends, old and new, from the ranks of government and the ranks of our membership. It is about our business partners who invaluably serve the association’s needs. And it is about our Annual Sponsors who make it possible to carry out our mission to further commercial vehicle safety and serve the trucking industry and Rhode Island’s Small Businesses on Wheels.”
